Twenty years ago, we started with a couple of beat-up vans, some secondhand gear, and a garage full of big dreams. We didn't have much, but we had the river and forest, and that was enough.

Since then, we've packed vans and paddled alongside thousands of you – first-timers white-knuckling their paddles, families building traditions one summer at a time, and veteran boaters chasing the next bend for a week straight. We've watched kids who could barely reach the water become paddlers who now bring their kids down the same stretches of river. We've shared sunrises, sunburns, sudden thunderstorms, and the kind of peace that only 107 miles of moving water can give you.

Somewhere along the way, we stopped being just an outfitter. We became part of this community, and this community became part of us.

This October, we want to celebrate, with all of you.

Reflecting on the years: A Visual Storytelling of Community.

Twenty years feels like a long time until you realize it's a giant mashup of moments spent helping folks make a meaningful connection with nature, all strung together. Beat up old vans from the 80’s, storms that change your safety speech, and that one time we strung 52 canoes to the Hickory Street Bridge in downtown Warren to show the length of the Titanic? Come take a walk down memory lane through the ups and downs and in-betweens of a nature-based small business in rural Pennsylvania. Swap a river story or two, read about a few of our favorites, and learn about what new adventures we’ve been up to lately.

Come out for the day, or stay for the weekend and do a little leaf-peeping. Either way, we hope you'll come celebrate these moments with us!

Warren-based author, Ta Enos, will be signing copies of her best-selling memoir, Proudly Made: A Story of Reinvention in the Big Woods and Small Towns of the Pennsylvania Wilds. As the sun goes down, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the spirit of a river and those that love them. We hope you’ll join us at the historic Struthers Library Theatre for a screening of the World Tour Paddling Film Festival. Below you’ll find trailers for a few of the films we’ll be screening. PS: Struthers Library Theatre is the 18th oldest continuously operating legitimate theatre in the United States, and an absolute gem. It has always been, and continues to be, a pillar of creativity and charm in downtown Warren!

A few helpful things of note!

Our celebration coincides with an excellent time of year to do a little leaf-peeping! Make it a sleep or two and spend some time catching the fall colors in the Allegheny National Forest!

If you’re traveling to the area, the Explore Downtown Warren website is a great resource. You’ll find lodging recommendations for those that would like to be within walking distance, nestled in the forest, or along the river. You’ll find a complete list of downtown restaurants there as well.
