Part interview, part storytelling, and part love letter to the Allegheny River. Filmed and edited by Jeremy Jeziorski in Warren, PA. www.JeremyJeziorski.com Special thanks to Piper VanOrd and Allegheny Outfitters: www.AlleghenyOutfitters.com

The Allegheny River has been nominated as a finalist for PA River of the Year! Please help us spread the word! The Allegheny River is an amazing ecosystem with seven federally designated Wilderness Islands and some of the best flat-water paddling in Pennsylvania. It's where we go to get away from it all with family and friends, an economic driver for visitors from all over the world, a world-class fishery, and a waterway we spend time taking care of every year with Clean-up efforts! Help us make it the 2017 PA River of the Year! Anyone can vote - it takes all of 20 seconds - you just need an email address. Tell your friends, family, coworkers: www.pariveroftheyear.org!
Welcome to AO's second annual "Paddle Happy" event! Along with talkin' shop about new boats and gear, we'll have oodles of information on 2016 happenings along the Allegheny River and Conewango Creek, and in the Allegheny National Forest. From adventure races and poker runs, to river clean-ups and full moon paddles - and everything in-between! EVERY boat in the shop will be on sale, along with a few demo boats from the fleet. We've got more than 35 different models in stock from Old Town, Necky, Ocean and Jackson Kayaks, ranging in prices from $349 on up. This will be the ONLY time in 2016 that not only will EVERY boat be discounted, but every boat purchase will include FREE weekend shuttles to Kinzua Dam from Memorial Day through Labor Day! If you're looking to get on the water this year, you don't want to miss this event! Kayak sale runs Friday and Saturday. Saturdays event will include firing up the grill at 11am, live music from a couple local bands throughout the day, and Straub will be providing us with a couple microbrews! Break up the winter funk and come get ready for spring!! (Sales event hours: Friday, February 26th, 11am-5pm; Saturday 10am-5pm.) Allegheny Outgitters, 430 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA 16365. An ominous cumulonimbus cloud sat downriver from us last night along the Allegheny River, giving us quite the lightning show for a solid two hours. Radar showed nothing in our area. Closest storm was in Clarion, about 50 miles away. No thunder. No rain. But a whole lot of "woooooaaaaah's". (Best viewed full screen in HD)
You form a unique relationship with Bald Eagle when you live along the Allegheny River. It took at least a year to train my eyes to spot them, and even now I'm surprised more times than not when they swoop from a tree overhead as I paddle below.
Wow! It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since we moved home to start a new adventure along the Allegheny! We certainly couldn't have done it without our family, friends, partners, community and customers! Here's to 10 more years of helping folks get outside!!
Cast and crew of "Titanic the Musical," along with a bevy of volunteers drew quite a crowd to the Allegheny River just downstream of the Hickory Street Bridge. A cast member in the play attached a cable to one of the bridge's support pillars and proceeded to attach 52 canoes each 17 feet long in an attempt to illustrate the length of the doomed passenger ship for the public.
