The Path of Notality for northwestern Pennsylvania.

No solar eclipse in northwestern Pennsylvania?

Well, shoot. The Path of Totality just turned into the Path of No-tality. Northwest Pennsylvania may have just lost its shot at witnessing a total solar eclipse for the first time in over 200 years, but we’re not letting it get us down! The AO vans are getting a spring tune-up as we type, then we’re loading ‘em up and heading to New Mexico! We currently have 24 extra seats in the vans - who wants to jump in? We may even have time to explore Carlsbad Caverns or White Sands National Park while we’re out there!

Yeah, it’s April 1st. We hoped to catch a few of you before you had your morning coffee. Plus, this dang eclipse is all we can think about! But seriously, have you been reading about the effects this may have on the natural world? This article from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is fascinating. Spider colonies taking down their webs, fireflies lighting up, barred owls calling back and forth to one another. And there are more than 30 National Wildlife Refuges that will experience a total solar eclipse next week!

What can we say, we’re nature nerds, and are so excited to experience this once in a lifetime event in our own backyard! Here. In Warren. As planned. Because this is just us being silly.

Carry on with your day, friends! Happy April First!
