In August 2018, less than one month after their 40th wedding anniversary, Mike and Tina Toole summitted Mt. Rainier with International Mountain Guides (IMG). It was an incredible, unforgettable experience, climbing roughly 9,000 feet over 8.4 miles. After their attempt last year failed due to bad weather, they were hoping for clear skies. The weather was great, but so warm that the route through the glaciers was changing daily. The IMG group two days before theirs failed because of dangerous changes. Luckily a new route was put in before their climb and their whole team made it to the summit.
Our "Local Adventurer Series" spotlights those who break the boundaries of Warren to tackle an outdoor adventure, in hopes to inspire others to get out there. The projector, screen and camp chairs will be setup (bring your favorite camp chair if you have one!) at AO Store on Wednesday, October 24th at 5:15, with a start time of 5:45. We hope you'll join us as they share the tale of this incredible feat! Bring your questions and adventurous spirit!
