Guided Trips
Whistling in the Dark! Allegheny River Moonlight Paddle
June 26, 2010; July 24, 2010; August 21, 2010
Come enjoy a peaceful 5-mile paddle under the stars from Indian Waters to Tidioute. As the moon rises to light our way, we'll watch deer, eagle, heron and an assortment of other birds and wildlife settling in for the night. 
Bring: Long pants and long sleeve shirt, bug spray, water bottle, and a working flashlight. A headlamp works best. Meet at the Tidioute boat launch at 7:45pm, shuttle departs at 8pm. Cost: $40 if you need to rent a canoe or kayak; $5 for shuttle if you'd like to bring your own boat. Class size is limited, advanced reservations required. Kayak & Coffee
(mid June - mid October)
This one goes out to all the early risers. Why spend the morning alone when you can spend it with the wildlife along the Allegheny river. We'll meet at the Buckaloons at 6:45 for shuttle to the Fresh Cup at 7:00 am, putting in at the Hickory Street Bridge for an early morning paddle. Total trip is 6 miles, 3 hours paddle time. Price is $30 per person and includes kayak, tax, paddle, life vest, shuttle service and a cup of joe. Reservations required.

Women on the Water Kayak Tours
(mid June - mid October)
Grandmothers, mothers, sisters, wives, daughters -- escape your hectic schedules and enjoy the stunning Allegheny River in the company of other women. These guided trips are perfect for beginning paddlers young and old, those new to the river or for more experienced paddlers who just want some company on the water. Each trip is roughly three to four hours long and covers a popular, calm and scenic part of the river. Price is $50 per person, and includes your kayak rental, paddles, lifejacket, tax, and a organic, gluten-free dinner provided by The Wellness Cafe. Size is limited, reservations required.

Classes and Workshops
Introduction to Kayaking
June 17, 2010;
The Kayak 101 classes focus on the basics. In the classroom (2-3 hours) we discuss equipment, paddling safely, local destinations and strokes. On the water (3 hours), we introduce the basic paddle strokes needed to efficiently move a kayak through the water. Participants will learn how to be efficient and understand and work with their boat’s stability. Classes include all gear, including kayaks, life vests, paddles, and safety equipment. 

We recommend reserving space early as we take a maximum of 12 participants in each class. Classroom portion meets at the Warren County Visitors Bureau at 9:30am. Trip will meet at Allegheny Outfitters in Warren, PA. Bring a pack lunch. Please see a list below for suggestions on what to bring. $45 per person, course fee includes instruction and equipment rental.. Class size is limited.
